About

I would say I’m just a mom but that’s not true. I’m a wife and a teacher and a friend.

I married my highschool sweetheart 2 months after I graduated highschool. Before I had barely grasped the role of being a new wife I was also a new mom. Our first baby was born only 10 months after our wedding day. My dreams had come true. I was a wife and a mom, but I had no idea of what I was doing.

Fast forward 34+ years and still entertain many days when I don’t know what I am doing. My house is growing more and more quiet as the children grow up and leave home. I find myself immersed in a season of supporting adult children and spoiling grandchildren while still raising that last child. This is why my Jesus is so precious to me. He knows what I don’t and when I am fully trusting in him my next step is very clear.

Practical facts about me

  • I love to stay home. I work very hard to keep my calendar from getting cluttered with non-essential outings. So yes, I often have my groceries delivered.
  • My husband is my most favorite person in my life. He is my spiritual leader, best friend, confidant and lover.
  • Baking bread is my most favorite healthy habit. I love milling my own flour, watching the bread rise & of course enjoying that fabulous first buttered bite. Sourdough or yeast bread…it’s all so good.
  • I love to study God’s Word. I love to dig in. I love to learn new things, especially from passages I’ve read many times before.
  • I love to teach the Bible to women. God has given women a very unique role in the church and encouraging women in their biblical roles through scripture is a delight and honor for me.
  • I love sweet tea, chocolate & a little coffee.
  • I do not like salads but I eat them because they are good for me.
  • My favorite day is when all my kids are together.
  • We have 7 boys, 4 girls, 2 daughter-in-laws, 3 son-in-laws and 9 of the most precious grandkids you’ve ever seen.
  • I am a preachers kid of a Southern Baptist preacher. I grew up going to church 3 times a week and that doesn’t count the times we were at the church preparing for services. We were the first to arrive and last to go home. But that’s not how I grew in my faith, but it laid an excellent foundation.

This is my tribe that I am so proud of.
